Almoners
The
IJF has a team of nine immensely dedicated Almoners who
are responsible for identifying, supporting and monitoring
the needs of beneficiaries. Their role is invaluable as
they literally are our eyes and ears. By liaising closely
with beneficiaries, they are able to determine exactly what
help is needed, whether it be medical, financial or simply
companionship. They travel extensively and frequently work
unsociable hours often in sensitive situations. The magnitude
of their role is poignantly highlighted in the Newsletter
by a number of moving tributes. In addition they also keep
Trustees up to date with all the cases of their beneficiaries.
They do indeed have exceptional skills and cannot be praised
highly enough.
